The valley of the Ansiei river, with its magnificent Three Peaks of Lavaredo, the lakes of Auronzo and Misurina, the Comelico Valley with its woods, pastures and characteristic villages, offer trails that mountain bike lovers cannot miss. These beautiful mountain areas are part of breathtaking panoramas of the Northern Dolomites, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site.
In Summer 2018, the new cycle trail from Auronzo to Misurina was opened. The route links the village of Auronzo di Cadore to the higher part of the area, the “Pearl of the Dolomites”, Misurina. The part that from Auronzo takes you to Palùs San Marco (about 15km) is suitable for everyone, without particular slopes either way. On the other hand, the part from Palùs San Marco to Misurina is more challenging, but still fun to ride with our new e-bikes. In particular, the crossing of the centuries old Somadida Forest is magical.

For those who don’t only love dirt roads, around Auronzo there are some roads that have made the history of cycling (see Giro d’Italia). Do you remember Nibali’s arrival at the Three Peaks of Lavaredo in May 2013? The attack at 3km from the top followed by his solitary arrival in a snow storm….To relive that sensational climb, when reaching Misurina, you can climb towards the Rifugio Auronzo (2333mt. asl) along the challenging 8 kilometres of steep hairpin bends to the foot of the famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo.
From Auronzo di Cadore, it is also possible to easily reach the “Lunga Via of the Dolomites”, the sensational cycle path that links Calalzo di Cadore with the Cimabanche pass riding through Cortina d’Ampezzo.
